Most Kenyan football stars who play in Europe and other parts of the world, are basically interracial.

Simply put, born between a Kenyan parent and a white parent.

In West African nations, they are fondly called as mulattoes, which meant that a kid born between a black and a white.

Here are some of top Kenyan stars born between black and white parents .



1.Martin Olsson and Marcus Olsson

Martin is a twin brother to Marcus born to a Swedish dad. They both play in England’s top leagues



Marcus plays for Derby County while Martin plays for Swansea in EPL

Aged 25 years old , and born to a mother from Central Kenya.

Their sister Jessica Olsson is married to  Dallas Mavericks basketball player Dirk Nowitzki.



3.Linton Maina

Linton Maina. who plays in Germany is a key interest for the Red Devils as the young lad’s form continue to impress Manchester United’s scouting team.

Maina has already shown huge success while playing as an attacking midfielder for German’s junior national team.

Maina aged 19 was born in Berlin to a Kenyan and German parent

4.Jonah Ayunga

Kenyan international footballer is least known in home nation, but Jonah Ananias Paul Ayunga is a big name in Europe especially in English leagues.

Between 2016 and 2018, he signed and played for EPL side Brighton & Hove Albion

The 21 year old was born to a Kenyan and white parents

5.Gonzalez Athuman

The 23 year old Ismael Said Athuman Gonzalez is one of the Kenyan key midfielders who play for national team Harambee Stars.

His dad Said Athuman moved for Spain in search of green pasture where he met with his mum Mercedes whom they together got Gonzalez. His dad played a crucial role on encouraging Gonzalez to play for Kenya

He plays at  UD Las Palmas Atlético, based in Spain

Athuman received his first call from Kenya in mid May 2016, for a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Congo the following month. He made his debut on 31 May 2016 in a friendly with Sudan

6.Phillipp Mwene

He was born in Vienna, Austria and holds dual citizenship of Kenya and Austria

He joined the German giants from second division side Kaiserslautern on a free transfer.

His contract signed in 2018 will expire in 3 years to come

At his former club, 24 year old made 65 appearances as a fulback.
