Former head of state and Kenya’s second President Daniel Toroitich Moi is dead.

Moi had been suffering from several illness before his demise.

President Uhuru Kenyatta issued a presidential proclamation announcing the passing on of the retired President.

In January 2020, Moi was put under life support machine in Nairobi following his sudden illness.

Since he was first time rushed to the hospital in 2019 October, Moi was taken to the hospital atleast four times.

According to his spokesperson Lee Njiru, Moi was being treated of recurring complications helped by his personal doctor David Silverstein

Moi’s health was also compounded with several diseases especially a knee pain that he got after he was involved in accident, back in 2006 in Limuru area.

During that time also, he was treated of pleural effusion, a medical condition where excess fluids accumulate around the lung areas.
