Whether you’re a seasoned cook or just starting out, there are always new kitchen tips to learn.

Here are a few tips that might help you in the kitchen:

  1. To keep your seasoning cubes fresh, add garri to the container where you store them. This will help to absorb any moisture and keep the cubes from getting soft.
  2. Don’t throw away your leftover pounded yam! Dry it and crush it, then use it to eat beans. It’s a great way to use up leftover food and add some extra flavor to your beans.
  3. If your pot of soup has soured, put 2-3 pieces of charcoal in it and warm it up. The charcoal will help to absorb the bad taste and restore the delicious flavor of your soup.
  4. If your bitterleaf is too bitter, add a little potash to it while cooking. This will help to remove some of the bitterness and make the bitterleaf more palatable.
  5. If you’re having trouble with wall geckos in your house, put fresh eggshells on your windows and doors. The geckos will be repelled by the eggshells and will eventually run out of your house.
  6. Add a pint of salt to your boiling water to make it boil faster. The salt will help to lower the boiling point of the water, so it will come to a boil more quickly.
  7. When cooking your stew, always use ginger and garlic to boil your meat. This will give your stew a super taste and make it more flavorful.
  8. If you have a burnt pot, put water inside it and cook it for a few minutes. The heat will help to soften the burnt food and make it easier to wash away.
  9. To prevent your yam from getting spoiled after you’ve cut it, apply palm oil to the remaining half. This will help to keep the yam from drying out and going bad.
  10. Rub salt on your peeled onions before cutting them to avoid peppering your eyes. The salt will help to absorb some of the moisture in the onions, which will make them less likely to make your eyes water.
  11. To kill ants and other micro-animals in your kitchen, mix salt, water, and detergent together and then spray it around your kitchen. The salt will help to dehydrate the ants and other insects, while the detergent will help to kill them.
  12. Add a little palm oil to your boiling water before adding your white garri. This will turn the garri yellow and give it a richer flavor.
  13. If hot water pours on your body, spray flour on the affected area. The flour will help to cool the skin and prevent it from blistering.
  14. To make your white pap turn yellow, add a little drop of palm oil while dissolving the raw pap. This will give the pap a richer flavor and color.
  15. Add a little groundnut oil to your hot water for eba. This will prevent the eba from sticking to the bowl while you’re stirring it.
  16. If you have ripe tomatoes and you don’t want them to get rotten, take lemons and mix them with the tomatoes. The lemons will help to preserve the tomatoes and keep them from going bad.
  17. If your food is too salty when cooking, peel a potato and cut it into the food. The potato will absorb some of the salt and help to make the food less salty.
  18. When you’ve already used oil to fry fish and you want to reuse it to cook a different meal without having the fish smell, just peel garlic and drop it into the oil. The garlic will help to absorb the fish smell and leave your oil smelling fresh.
  19. If you want to turn palm oil to groundnut oil, just bleach it with fresh orange leaves. The orange leaves will help to remove the color and flavor of the palm oil, leaving you with a clear, flavorless oil that you can use for cooking.

These are just a few kitchen tips that might help you. There are many other tips out there, so be sure to experiment and find what works best for you.
