It is about 37 years since Lamborghini presented the LM001, a four-seater SUV that never came to fruition after the presentation of the prototype.

Since then, the bull’s signature has focused on what it really knows how to do, the supercars. However, the SUV phenomenon has invaded the entire industry.

Brands such as Maserati, with Levante, or Porsche, with Cayenne and Macan, are already firmly committed to the segment and it was only a matter of time before Lamborghini or Ferrari became interested in making SUVs.

Lamborghini has already presented the Urus, the fastest SUV in the world. The Sant’Agata Bolognese brand presented on Monday a SUV that will be able to reach 305 kilometers per hour and that will cost about 20 million for the Europe market.

Powered by a 4.0-liter V8 and double turbo, the Urus will have a maximum power of 650 hp and a maximum torque of 850 Nm from 2,250 rpm. Thus, the Lamborghini SUV will be able to reach 100 km / h in just 3.6 seconds and reach 200 km / h in 12.8. These figures, considering that weigh more than 2,200 kilos, are even more incredible.

The block will be associated with an eight-speed automatic transmission that will transmit all its power to the four wheels. The vehicle will be able to distribute the torque between the different wheels independently so that it squeezes out its full force on any terrain and surface. T

The engine of the Urus will have an average consumption of 12.7 l / 100 km, depending on the brand, thanks to the function of deactivation of cylinders when they are not necessary to reduce consumption.

The driver will have four driving modes at his disposal to enjoy the vehicle anywhere.

Depending on the chosen mode, the delivery of engine power varies and aspects such as the height and hardness of the steering wheel vary to offer the best driving experience.

To the incredible characteristics that all Lamborghini must have, the Urus is, aesthetically, 100% Lamborghini. It will measure 5.11 meters long, 2.01 wide and 1.62 meters high and the brand has managed to adapt the straight and defined lines and the characteristic shape of its cars to the format and measurements of the SUVs.

Like other models, their rear headlights will have a ‘Y’ shape and their front will be as aggressive as a hurricane can be. The wheel arches, very wide, 23-inch wheels and air intakes do nothing but reinforce the image of a vehicle that, without a doubt, is a Lamborghini with all the law.

“The Lamborghini Urus is a visionary approach based on the fusion of Lamborghini’s DNA in the most versatile vehicle, the SUV, the Urus elevates the SUV to a level never before seen, the Super SUV, a true Lamborghini in terms of design, performance, driving dynamics and emotion and you can drive every day in a wide range of environments, “says Stefano Domenicali, president of the brand.

The interior also follows the aesthetic line of the most current models of the brand, with all the elements facing the driver to improve the driving experience. In terms of design, straight lines continue to predominate and, like the other models, the luxury that must accompany the brand’s cars has not been renounced.

Among its equipment include the multifunction steering wheel, the new selector of driving modes, called Tamburo and two touch screens for the infotainment system. In addition, as usual, the buyer can choose between different finishes, wood, carbon fiber, leather e.t.c

Another extra will be the assembly of a rear bench for 3 occupants or leave the option of two unique sports seats.

Something that differentiates his brothers is the trunk. The Urus, like a good SUV, has a carrying capacity of 616 liters expandable to 1,596 if the backs are folded back.

The first deliveries of the Urus will arrive in the spring of 2018 at an approximate price, according to the official statement of the brand, Which will be about Ksh. 21 million for the Europe market.
