Unknown men attacked Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip and Saumu Mbuvi, daughter of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko .
The incident happened on 2nd of June, 2019 at Memphis Lounge- a popular club near United States International University.
Police have arrested a bouncer from the club and pursuing other five suspects in connection with the attack which happened when the two had left the club.
According to Saumu, she was with the Senator on Saturday night watching the UCL final before the fracas began.
She also noted that she had visited the washroom before hell broke loose in the club, leaving the Jubilee Senator with deep head cuts.
While in the washrooms, she was attacked by unknown assailant who tore her clothes when she screamed at the top of her voice.
Saumu adds that the Senator arrived in good time and told off the man they were dating.
“The man came out of the room and pleaded for forgiveness and I told Anwar to let him go,” she said.
As they were walking to their parked car, they were again attacked by the same person in company of about nine men at around 2.40am
They bludgeoned the senator and started beating him up and down as Saumu tried to cover him.
Later they left him half dead as she tried to seek medical attention for the injured Anwar.
Saumu sustained also injuries from the beatings she received when she tried to cover the senator from being beaten up.
