A former Moi University student has been trending on social media for the last few days, albeit for a good reason.
Joanne Mali Kuttuny is the latest internet sensation after a video she uploaded on Facebook got shared more than 400 times.
The video shows the 23-year-old anchoring a mock news bulletin in some neighbourhood and not in a studio as many of us are used to.
Just like any news anchor, Ms Kuttuny begins the bulletin by introducing herself and thanking us for tuning in for the prime time news.
After the introduction, she delves into the day’s latest news with the kind of diction that is arguably better than that of your favourite news anchor.
If you thought she would forget to sign out then you are wrong as she does it in the sweetest words.
The video has earned her praise from Facebook users who have encouraged her to try looking for a job at one of the local media houses.
Here is the video:
When reached for a comment, Ms Kuttuny said she uploaded the video to try and reach out to media houses.
The lass who is set to graduate with a Diploma in Public Relations and Communication from Moi University says that she has gone for interviews at some local media houses but was never successful.
“Mr Linus Kaikai of NTV believed in me and allowed me to have several screen tests and I’m thankful for that opportunity. I also auditioned for KTN’s The Presenter Show but my name was removed from the final list of short-listed candidates for reasons that were not disclosed to me,” she said.
