Celebrated Kenyan comedienne Eunice Wanjiku Njoki, popularly known as Mammito, has set social media buzzing with her latest skit, which has introduced another phrase that has gone viral. In the clip, Mammito plays a mother to her teenage daughter and humorously uses Brufen as the cure for almost every family ailment.
The skit resonated with Kenyans, many of whom recalled how their own mothers often relied on Brufen for any type of sickness. Mammito’s comedic timing and relatable content turned everyday family scenarios into a viral moment.
In the skit, Mammito wears a pink outfit as her ‘daughter’ walks into the kitchen complaining about back pain. Mammito immediately responds, “Have you taken some Brufen? Go take some.” When the daughter reports persistent stomach issues, Mammito advises, “You are diarrhoea-ring? It’s watery? Did you take some Brufen? Go take some Brufen with some bread so that the bread can solidify it.”
The humor continues as the daughter bruises herself. Mammito does not skip a beat and suggests Brufen again. Even when receiving a call from another parent about her child’s symptoms, she recommends the same remedy.
In the final scene, Mammito portrays herself coiled up in bed, claiming to have a headache caused by financial stress after her chama failed to give her a monthly bonus. When her daughter offers to take her to the hospital, Mammito insists on Brufen. “I have a headache, and I feel like the chama does not want to give me a bonus this month. Just give me my Brufen. My biggest issue is financial. It’s just lacking money in this Nairobi, I feel like I have a headache,” she says.
The skit has sparked laughter and comments online, with fans praising Mammito for capturing the quintessential Kenyan mum who sees Brufen as a universal remedy. Her creativity and ability to turn everyday experiences into comedy continue to solidify her status as one of Kenya’s most relatable and talented content creators.
