The Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinett, has said that slain businessman, Jacob Juma, was brutally murdered by Simon Muturi alias Birarutosha, Terminator or Corroboster, a former cop based at Wilson Airport Police Station.
Simon was gunned down last weekend near Nyayo Stadium after being trailed by Flying Squad officers and an AK47 alleged to have been used in the murder of Jacob Juma recovered from him.
He was shot dead alongside three thugs on Sunday after kidnapping the daughter of former politician Kenneth Matiba, Ivy, and stealing money from her before demanding ransom from her family.
A ballistic report by CID forensic investigators said the grooves in the weapon matched those on the cartridges found at the scene where Juma was killed.
The said police officer was interdicted in 2012 after he was linked to criminal activities.
He was facing charges of assault and malicious damage to property before a Mombasa court.
