Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, caused a scene in Mathare slums on Sunday, September 18th after he removed his shirt and left his pot belly exposed.

Reports indicate that the Senator and his team were at Mlango Kubwa area in Mathare where they were distributing branded t-shirts and caps to their supporters ahead of the planned rally by Jubilee Party.

Unfortunately, Sonko’s team ran out of the apparel before the youths – who were part of the surging crowd – each got something.

It is then the Senator who is known for his generosity decided to take of the Jubilee Party shirt he was wearing and gave it out to one of the youths.

In the 50-second video posted on his Facebook page, Sonko is seen removing his shirt before throwing it in the air. He puts on his coat shortly after that and continues to address the crowd.

After some few minutes, a member of his team brought him another t-shirt which was not draped in Jubilee colors.

He later took to social media to explain why he gave out his shirt, opting to remain shirtless as a result.

“Due to public demand I had to donate my T-shirt to someone who insisted nimpe. Nimelearn lesson to be always carrying more T-shirts and Hoods kuna watu wanazipenda sana,” he POSTED.
