Saumu Mbuvi, the eldest daughter of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, has shared insights into her decision to move from Kenya to Dubai. She highlighted the factors that influenced her relocation and the advantages she has experienced while living in the city.
Reasons for Saumu Mbuvi’s Move to Dubai
In a video posted on her TikTok page, Mbuvi expressed her appreciation for Dubai’s security, emphasizing that she feels safe walking alone at night without concern.
She stated, “These are the reasons that made me decide to settle in Dubai. Number one is the safety that Dubai gives me. I am a lady, and the other day I just walked out at 2 am to look for food, and I was alone on the road. That safety is what made me feel this is my home.”
As a mother of two, Mbuvi highlighted that security is a crucial factor for her and her children. She believes that Dubai provides an environment where families can flourish without constant fear.
She also pointed to the city’s technological advancements and abundant opportunities as another reason behind her decision to relocate.
She explained, “I am a woman in technology and innovation, and Dubai is a smart hub that advances every day. The ideas I see here make me feel like I am in the right place because they complement my way of thinking.”
Beyond career prospects, Mbuvi praised Dubai’s legal system and humanitarian values, noting that the city fosters kindness among its residents.
She added, “Another thing is humanity and the laws that guide Dubai. If there is anything you choose to be in this world, at least choose to be kind. That is one thing I would like to instill in my children. Dubai is a city that shows kindness and humanity.”
Mbuvi has been involved in charity work while in Dubai, engaging with influential figures in humanitarian efforts. She has also been exploring business opportunities, particularly in the real estate sector, which she believes offers significant growth potential in Dubai.
Mbuvi’s Simple Lifestyle
Despite being the daughter of a prominent politician, Mbuvi has maintained a modest lifestyle. She previously disclosed that she shops for clothes at Gikomba, Kenya’s largest open-air market, and avoids extravagant luxuries such as long fake nails.
Her decision to relocate to Dubai marks a new phase in her life, allowing her to embrace opportunities that align with her ambitions and values. With security, career growth, and a nurturing environment for her children, she remains optimistic about her future in the vibrant city.
