Moi Shuts Down Its Campuses Indefinitely

Moi University have joined the government policy of shutting down satellite campuses who are operating below the required standards.

Such victims were only Nakuru and Kericho campus which will be closed down at the end of the semester.

“The students in those campuses will not be disadvantaged. They will join other campuses of Moi University to continue with their education,” Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academics, Research and Extension Prof Isaac Kimengi said.

The campuses, Nakuru had 100 students while Kericho had 300 students before being closed down by Commission for University Education (CUE) which regulates university education.

Previously , President Uhuru Kenyatta directed a freeze on the establishment of new universities.
