According to reports, the Manchester United boss, José Mourinho, accepted a suspended prison sentence of one year for tax fraud in Spain.
Mourinho has been accused by the authorities of defrauding the government with 1.9 million euros in taxes in his period in charge of Real Madrid.
The Portuguese allegedly used extraterritorial companies in Ireland, the British Virgin Islands and New Zealand to hide their reported revenues of 3.3 million euros for image rights in 2011 and 2012.
The Daily Star reports that Mourinho will send a written confession about the income he concealed from the authorities.
Doing this will help Mourinho avoid going to trial and make sure he will not serve a sentence.
Mourinho joins Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Alexis Sanchez as a series of high profile football names that have been penalized by tax evasion by Spanish authorities in recent years.
