Content creator and YouTuber Mungai Eve has called out her friend Sheilah Sheldone for sharing a disturbing and false death post about her on social media. The influencer expressed shock that Sheilah, who has her personal contacts, did not bother to confirm the news before posting.
Sheilah, now based in the US, posted on Instagram asking followers whether Mungai Eve had passed away. The post read, “Can someone explain to me this please? Is Mungai Eve dead? Please can someone tell me if this news is fake?” The two women know each other personally, having met in the entertainment industry.
Mungai responded by screenshotting the post and sharing it on her Instagram Stories. She questioned why Sheilah would publicly post such a claim without reaching out privately. “Lol I be chilling enjoying my life yet someone is ‘killing me’ on Facebook Wthelly!! I rebuke it in Jesus name. Also it’s weird if you know someone on a personal level and you see such news instead of reaching out you post? Weird!” she wrote.
Sheilah gained public attention in 2023 after her story and that of her ailing mother, Vivian Otieno, went viral as they sought financial assistance for medical treatment. Vivian, who had been unwell since 2015 due to fibroid tumours, underwent multiple surgeries before the family raised funds to relocate to the US for further care.
The incident comes months after Mungai made headlines for revealing she was on a celibacy journey following a public fallout with her ex-boyfriend, Shifuwayy. The breakup was surrounded by drama, including claims that she had lent him KSh 1 million, which he had not repaid. Mungai shared screenshots of their conversations with blogger Njambi Fever to support her claims.
