Police have been caught on the wrong side of the law again, manhandling a female passenger in Kasarani area.

The video uploaded by a female passenger known by Facebook name as Njeri wa Muthoni has gone viral instantly the moment it was reported.

In the video, three police officers are seen wrestling with the female passenger, who had refused to disembark from the matatu.

It was not established what the woman had done immediately.

Njeri Wa Muthoni apparently was arrested as she is being held at Kasarani police station.

She is being accused of incitement after recording and uploading the video.

I will mobilise patriots to storm Kasarani police station in solidarity with Njeri if she is not released immediately! Ifikie @FredMatiangi @JBoinnet @PoliceKE https://t.co/pkcxPOff8n

We are citizens of this country 🇰🇪 🇰🇪 @KenyaPolice3, we pay taxes which pay your salaries, harassing a citizen isn't in-order. Njeri has the right to use her phone and arresting is intimidation. @FredMatiangi look into this #ReleaseNjeri pic.twitter.com/9qnUwXYjbX

KOT have demanded her release, including NMG journalist Gathara and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino

Dear Kenyans,
It is a crime under the National Police Service Act for a police officer to abuse his or her powers of arrest. Will @ODPP_KE prosecute the cops who arrested a citizen for apparently filming them? @matundura78 #ReleaseNjeri pic.twitter.com/sczipyQrNr

The police keep telling us to:
1. Stay Vigilant
2. Report anything fishy.

Njeri was vigilant and took a video to record/report something she thought was fishy.

We can't win the war on crime when citizens are arrested for being vigilant. #ReleaseNjeri
