A campaign on Twitter under the ‘hashtag’ #ThisIsNotConsent (‘It’s not allowed’) is filling the social network with lace thong photos mostly published by Internet users in Ireland.
The trend comes as a response to a controversial sentence handed down in early November 2018 by a court in the Irish city of Cork, in which a 27-year-old man was acquitted of the rape accusations against a 17-year-old girl
One of the arguments that the judges used for their decision was that the victim wore a lace thong. This provoked the indignation of the users of the Network, who saw in this reasoning a blaming of the victim, so they decided to protest against the failure by sharing photos of their undergarments.
Ireland High Court acquits a man charged with raping a 17 year old girl after his lawyer, Elizabeth O’Connell raised the Defence that the girl caused the rape by wearing a “thong with a lace front” under a transparent dress! The Irish Public is in meltdown on the acquittal.

How can the barrister put it down to the type of thong the girl was wearing when in reality the man who raped her couldn’t have known what she was wearing until he proceeded to rape her its fucking bullshit how this can even be used as a defense #ThisIsNotConsent
