Through their Director General Francis Mejja, The National Transport and Safety Authority alias NTSA have directed that Matatu operating as PSV’s can have graffiti on them but with several key regulations.
According to Mr.Mejja, the following regulations should be met while decorating Matatus with graffiti.
- Graffiti should not be done on windows of the vehicle. The panes should remain clear and without tint
- The name of the sacco should be in clear focus and be able to be distinguished from the graffiti drawings
- They also not reflect or seem to reflect gangsters, violence or immoral cultures and behaviors
- The graffiti should also be done in line with NTSA regulations that have already been set
- The vehicle can have several colurs and graffiti done but what is inside should be able to be seen clearly from outside.
