Oga Obinna recently shared a revealing story about his past relationship and how a decision to buy comedian Dem Wa Facebook a car led to tension with his ex-girlfriend. The media personality disclosed that his former partner was not in favor of his gesture, which involved surprising Dem Wa Facebook with a Nissan March. According to Obinna, his ex felt that there were more pressing matters to address, and she was not convinced that the gift was the best use of his money.

In a candid video posted while driving to pick up his children, Obinna reflected on his decision to buy the car, which was a response to Dem Wa Facebook’s struggles with expensive cabs while commuting from Kayole. “Every Monday, I would pay her KSh 5,000 for a cab, and when she had meetings, it was always an added cost. I wanted to help her by getting her a car to make her life easier,” he explained.

Obinna also believed that the gift would enhance Dem Wa Facebook’s brand, but when he shared his plan with his then-girlfriend, she was not supportive. “We have things we need to do, that money could go into more important things,” she told him, advising against the idea. Undeterred by her disapproval, Obinna went ahead with the purchase, sending money to his car dealer and keeping the plan a secret from his girlfriend.

On the day of the surprise, Obinna could not contain his excitement as he went ahead with the gift. However, when he returned home, he was met with scorn from his partner, who reminded him that the money could have been better spent on more “important” things. “I had to explain that everything else was taken care of, and I wasn’t paying for it with money meant for other priorities,” Obinna shared. Despite his efforts, the backlash from his ex left a bitter aftertaste.

In a twist to the story, rumors surfaced months ago claiming that Obinna had repossessed the car. However, Dem Wa Facebook swiftly denied these claims, confirming that the car was still hers and defending Obinna’s character, insisting that he would never take back a gift once given.

Obinna has since reflected on the situation and offered advice to young people, particularly boys, encouraging them to learn from his past mistakes. The gift, while met with mixed reactions at the time, stands as a reminder of how the dynamics of relationships can sometimes clash with personal intentions.

Through his story, Obinna also gave fans a glimpse into the struggles of his past relationship, calling it toxic at times and reinforcing the importance of prioritizing the right things in life. As for Dem Wa Facebook, she seemed to appreciate the car, and the two have continued their journeys in the spotlight, albeit with different focuses.
