Flight Data Analyst
Reporting to the Flight Data Manager, the ideal candidate will be required to capture, analyze, disseminate and archive safety information to all concerned and to ensure improvement of corporate safety.
Principle Accountabilities;
- Identify and establish audit findings on both planned and achieved rosters for Flight Crew and discuss with the relevant line managers and jointly agree on actions to be implemented to ensure a cost effective and fairness in duty distributions.
- Provide effective and valid analysis of flight data to support the Flight Data Monitoring program, making a positive contribution to safe Flight Operations by ensuring collection, analysis, and reporting processes for the Flight Data Analysis Program are followed as per documented processes.
- Ensure the proper functioning of flight data software, hardware (if applicable), and associated peripherals, coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot and diagnose problems, and evaluate and implement corrective actions as well as monitoring to ensure the minimum service level agreement is maintained with any FDM related external provider.
- Provide analyses and data support using reactive, proactive and predictive methodologies for contributions to support an effective and maturity of the Safety Management System.
- Operate the Flight Data Analysis software on a daily basis, ensuring system and data availability and integrity.
- Monitor aircraft data capture rates; ensure that all data is validated prior to further analysis;
- Prepare presentations, analysis packages and special studies to mitigate risk, identify trends, and increase efficiency as well as assisting in preparing and presentation of FDM data for Flight Operations leadership.
- Promote safety awareness by developing and production of periodic flight data related safety bulletins.
- Participate verification, validation of reports and exceedances in operational safety limits.
- Liaise closely with Engineering to ensure aircraft systems are configured to best support the data requirements of the group Flight Data Analysis Program.
- Maintain confidentiality and acting with utmost integrity to ensure the credibility and effectiveness of the FDM program and adhere to procedures and confidentiality protocols for the provision of flight data to other company departments including Flight Operations, Safety Systems and Engineering;
- Provide after-hours on-call support as required.
- Participate in the specification, implementation and ongoing development of the Flight Data Analysis system.
- Monitor, review, and evaluating current and proposed industry regulations relevant to Flight Data Analysis.
Knowledge, Skills and experience;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics or Data Analysis or any other related filed from a recognized University.
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree plus Diploma in Information Systems/ Statistics or Data Analysis from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in data management or 1 year experience as a Flight Data Analyst.
- Working Knowledge of Airline Operations.
- Proficiency in IT Skills.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication skills.
- Ability to handle pressure and difficult situations with resilience, calmly and effectively.

Flight Safety Officer
Reporting to the Safety Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible to planning, implementing and coordinating flight safety and ensure compliance with required regulations, procedures and policies. He/she is also required to conduct safety audits, capture, analyze, disseminate, and archive flight safety information to all concerned and to ensure improvement of flight safety.
Principle Accountabilities;
- Identify and establish audit findings on both planned and achieved rosters for Flight Crew and discuss with the relevant line managers and jointly agree on actions to be implemented to ensure a cost effective and fairness in duty distributions.
- Collect, collate, document and produce periodic air safety reports and safety trends for the attention of the manager.
- Conduct safety audits of operational systems, infrastructure and procedures affecting or likely to affect the company operations.
- Follow up and verify the implementation of the safety recommendations developed after investigation or by the safety committees.
- Build and maintain a sound and updated safety data bank of incidents reported within the company.
- Provide support to the FDMs team particularly on the interpretation of the analyzed data, and synchronize ASR and FDMS outputs.
- Assist in investigating aircraft and equipment incidents and accidents and make appropriate safety recommendations.
- Prepare, produce and disseminate to flight crew and staff, periodic safety bulletins and magazines.
- Improve, maintain and promotie an efficient Corporate Emergency Response Plan, including the amendment of the ERPM.
- Ensure implementation of safety, security and emergency standards at all times.
- Ensure and maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment in compliance with the relevant industry, regulatory and legislative requirements, company procedures, regulatory authorities and requirements of customer airlines.
Knowledge, Skills and experience;
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field/Diploma in Aviation related field from a recognized University.
- Diploma or certificate in Safety Management.
- Must possess CPL License or Flight Operations Officer License.
- Training and experience in Accident Investigation skills.
- Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in Safety Management System.
- Thorough working knowledge of Airline operations, Civil Aviation Authority, ICAO and IATA Procedure/and regulations.
- Demonstration of ability to write Technical Safety Management Manuals or Procedures.
- Demonstrable understanding & skills for conducting successful Safety Audits.
- Demonstrable experience in report writing.
- Conversant with relevant IT Tools and Systems.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication skills.
- Ability to handle pressure and difficult situations with resilience, calmly and effectively.

Refunds Assistant
Reporting to the Manager Sales and Uplift, the ideal candidate will be required to ensure that all Head office refunds received are prorated and paid on a timely basis and that all other refund transactions are forwarded to the BPO Centre for processing and billing, ensure timeliness in forwarding all GSA manual refund documents and completeness in processing and reconciling of refund transactions at the BPO.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Ensure that all refund requests received are responded to within 72 hours (SLA) after receipt by either email, post or through the web.
- Perform detailed computation/proration on refund requests ensuring that amounts refunded are in accordance with tariff rules and / or interline refund procedures.
- Handle other airlines refunds and process only after receiving refund authority from such airlines.
- Compile all Kenya Airways counters refunds data and onward submission to the BPO for processing.
- Review and authorize agency refund applications through BSP for the offline markets.
- Ensure that refund adjustments are made to other airlines for the applicable prorate in situations where the application has no refund value.
- Provide support to the outstations regarding refund computation.
- Timely review of error lists from the BPO for dual refunded tickets and recharge to recover.
Knowledge, Skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field from a recognized institution.
- Must possess accounting qualification i.e. CPA part II or equivalent.
- IATA certification (Fares and ticketing, interline accounting and Proration/sales accounting).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Finance, preferably 1 year working experience in revenue accounting.
- In-depth knowledge of fares and refund rules.
- Conversant with industry requirements and changes.
- Advanced computing skills.
