Over 15 Kenyans Injured During Madaraka Day Tragedy

Atleast 15 people were confirmed injured and rushed to Meru Level 5 hospital following a tragedy that struck through when a tree collapsed.

The accident which occurred in Meru town, involved patriotic Kenyans who were following the Madarka day celebrations at Kinoru stadium.

After the stadium filled to its carrying capacity, the residents decided to climb on a tree to get a glimpse of the stadium after they had been barred by the security. The tree later could not withstand the weight and fell down injuring many.

Four ambulances rushed 10 to the hospital.

The celebration which marks 55 years of Kenya’s self rule is being headed by President Uhuru Kenyatta among other top dignitaries.

This year’s celebration is a unique on its own bearing in mind that the ruling government leaders and opposition leaders had set aside their differences to champion for unity.
