Police in Homa Bay have arrested 39 youths who are linked to Wednesday’s incident in which a billboard belonging to the Jubilee Party was set ablaze in town
.
The heavily armed officers majority in plain clothes swung into action and rounded up the youths at the Homa Bay bus park.
County Police Commander John Omusanfa confirmed the arrests and said the operation was still on.
“We will not relent until all those who were involved in the incident are arrested and brought to book,” he said.
The incident on Wednesday evening saw Police officers rescue two employees of Magnate Ventures who were erecting the banners from the wrath of the youths who were baying for their blood.
Homa Bay is a stronghold of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who is trying to wrestle power from President Kenyatta in 2017.
