Prof. Mutua, through his official Twitter handle, warned that the 118 PhDs had questions to draw concerns over the authenticity.

How credible are the 118 PhDs awarded by JKUAT? Either they are FAKE, or academic standards there are near ZERO. Let’s end this academic FRAUD https://t.co/NuifqU8JGz

On June 21st, 2019 Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology aka JKUAT conferred a total of 118 doctorate degrees during its annual graduation ceremony.

Also, 3345 students graduated from other field of studies on the first graduation to be hosted by the newly appointed Vice Chancellor Prof. Joseph Mathu Ndung’u,

From Prof. Mathu’s speech, it was clear that JKUAT had since January 2019, acquired 38 new intellectual property rights, including seven patents, one utility model, 26 trademarks, three copyrights and industrial design.

On social media, Kenyans were shocked with the highest number of doctorate degrees honours aka PhDs who graduated on the same day.

Many argued that JKUAT did not have required facilities and number of professors to supervise the 118 graduates

JKUAT as its name says is University of Agriculture & Technology. But to graduate 118 PhDs when we don’t know from it of any innovation in both fields is a monumental scandal & should be closed. JKUAT should publish the titles of alll the PhDs theses & names of the Supervisors.

Even the biggest university in the land @uonbi has never awarded 118 PhDs in a single graduation.
UoN has the most professors in the land.
Does JKUAT have the capacity to award such a huge number of PhDs?

Instead of complaining about JKUAT PhDs shouldn't we be asking where the innovations are.
Don't side with Magoha, he also believes very few people should have bachelor's degrees (like in the 60s)

How many PhD holders lectures at JKUAT to enable them supervise 118 PhDs?
