Rachel Otuoma, widow of late Kenyan footballer Ezekiel Otuoma, has ignited debate online after openly expressing affection for a new man during a TikTok live session, just months after her husband’s passing.

In the candid session, Rachel emotionally praised a man identified as Jabilo, thanking him for supporting her through her healing journey. Her words, filled with gratitude and affection, left many of her followers surprised and sparked fresh speculation about her relationship status.

During the TikTok live, Rachel appeared relaxed and slightly intoxicated as she poured her heart out to Jabilo. “Thank you for understanding, I love this man very much and he understands that I need to heal. Jabilo, thank you for walking with me in this journey, thank you for making me happy. Thank you for everything. I want to appreciate my man, I love him so much,” she said.

Her declaration comes not long after she had publicly denied rumours linking her to another man named Menace. At the time, Rachel clarified that her relationship with Menace was purely platonic, despite their close bond.

Rachel’s new remarks have drawn mixed reactions online. Some followers applauded her for choosing happiness and moving forward after enduring a painful loss, while others questioned whether it was too soon to publicly embrace a new relationship.

Brenda Odero wrote, “Toa ring ya Otuoma sasa, too bad God has revealed what was hidden too late.” Lily Osman asked, “Kwani Rachel wewe unapenda kila mtu na sisi tunapenda wakina nani?” Stella commented, “I am happy for you, Rachel.” Lindy noted, “I don’t trust this man, and it’s not out of jealousy.” Mercy said, “Mlisema ni kuoga na kurudi soko.” Yvonne Ogoda added, “Otuoma, continue resting in peace.”

Rachel has remained a visible figure online since the loss of her husband in late 2024. Ezekiel Otuoma, who played for AFC Leopards and Ulinzi Stars, succumbed to Motor Neurone Disease — a condition that left him incapacitated for a prolonged period. Rachel won public admiration during that time for her devotion and the care she provided her husband throughout his battle.

Previously, she had vowed to keep wearing her wedding ring as a symbol of the bond she shared with Ezekiel, promising during his funeral that no one could take his place in her heart. She also expressed a heartfelt commitment to her late husband’s mother, promising to continue caring for her in his memory.

As of now, Rachel has not made an official statement confirming her relationship status with Jabilo. However, her words during the TikTok live suggest a close emotional bond between them.

Whether this marks a new chapter for the popular content creator or was simply a moment of gratitude, the public continues to watch her journey with both empathy and curiosity. Rachel’s story serves as a reminder of the complexities of grief, healing, and finding happiness again — even in the harsh glare of the public eye.
