A section of Githurai residents and matatu operators blocked a section of Thika Road as they protested to demand the draining of a killer dam constructed beside the road.
The demonstrations were sparked after a 14-seater matatu dived into the dam killing 8 people on spot.
The demonstrators also harassed motorists on the road, demanding money from them in order to grant them with a pass route.
