Kasarani MP and SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri has strongly denied recent allegations of involvement in a controversial relationship, calling them “totally fabricated” and challenging blogger Edgar Obare to produce any evidence. The claims emerged when a man alleging to be Karauri’s former partner shared private messages, screenshots, and references to videos on Obare’s platform, accusing the MP of threats following a supposed breakup. In response, Karauri appeared in a video holding stacks of cash and offered Obare Sh10 million if the alleged video was released by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, signaling his confidence that no such material exists. He emphasized his sexual orientation, stating that he is heterosexual and that any personal conflicts in his life have been with women. Karauri also hinted that the accusations could be politically motivated, suggesting there might be an agenda behind the allegations.

Addressing Obare directly, Karauri accused the blogger of attempting to extort him with false claims and stressed that he would not be intimidated. He outlined a plan for the Sh10 million, proposing that Sh8 million go to his foundation to support children, while Sh2 million could serve as prize money and support for local events, demonstrating a focus on philanthropy despite the controversy. The story quickly went viral on social media platforms such as X, Instagram, and TikTok, sparking discussions, memes, and debates across the country. Karauri’s proactive approach, openly confronting the rumors rather than ignoring them, reflects a strategy to control the narrative and maintain his public image. This is not Karauri’s first brush with public scrutiny, as similar allegations regarding his personal life surfaced in 2025, involving Tanzanian socialite Nana Dollz and drawing attention to his marriage with Captain Ruth Karauri.

By taking a firm stance and offering a transparent challenge, Karauri has attempted to turn the controversy into a public conversation about accountability, truth, and community support. His response blends defiance with a philanthropic angle, showing a willingness to redirect attention from personal attacks toward constructive outcomes. The episode highlights the intersection of social media influence, political life, and celebrity culture in Kenya, demonstrating how public figures must navigate personal allegations under intense scrutiny. Observers continue to watch the developments closely, particularly the interactions between Karauri and Obare, as the story evolves online. For now, Karauri’s approach signals a calculated effort to protect his reputation while leveraging the situation for public engagement and charitable causes.
