Ruth Karegi, Mulamwah’s estranged baby mama, has left Kenyans laughing after her dramatic reaction to a simple question about dating a Luhya man again. In a video circulating online, Ruth was asked if she would consider dating a Luhya man. Instead of answering, she sprinted away, leaving both the interviewer and viewers shocked.

Ruth and Mulamwah had a public and acrimonious split after almost four years together. Their breakup included the leaking of private photos, prompting Ruth to move out with their young son and start fresh on new social media platforms. She has openly discussed the pain caused when intimate content was sent to her family, including her father, which strained that relationship significantly.

In the recent interview, Ruth and another creator were asked a series of “would you” questions. The rule was simple: if the answer was “no,” the participant had to run a short distance. When the prompt “Date a Luhya man” was read, Ruth immediately took off running and refused to stop despite repeated calls. Dressed in shorts, a white t-shirt, and boots, she ran so far that the interviewer could only watch her disappear.

The clip quickly went viral. Social media users joked about her running, while others defended the Luhya community against stereotyping. Comments included:

unholic_manu: “Lesson learnt courtesy of Mulamwah.”
k.w.a.l.e: “Has she really met a Meru man?”
msairo_chemuu: “Rumour has it she is still running.”
kibz_the_diva: “Even if it were me, I would have run until I got lost.”
cherono832: “The way Luhyas are sweet, there is no day I will date another tribe.”
devadd_laud: “Why do people always group tribes with certain beliefs? Not all Luhyas behave like the one she had.”

Beyond the humor, Ruth has shared her reflections on love. In a separate video, she admitted she hopes to date again but plans to proceed cautiously. She wants a relationship built on genuine intentions and stressed the importance of prayer in guiding her to the right partner. Ruth emphasized that she is not rushing into romance and is determined to avoid repeating past mistakes.

Her candidness and humor continue to spark online conversations, showing both the challenges of public relationships and her commitment to learning from them.
