Samuel Kinyua, a criminology graduate from Egerton University, found himself at a crossroads when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, leaving him jobless and uncertain about his future. Before the pandemic, Kinyua juggled two roles, one as a verification specialist and the other as an office administrator. However, the economic fallout from the pandemic led to his retrenchment from both positions, forcing him to start anew.

Samuel Kinyua narrates: job loss

In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, Kinyua recounted the challenges he faced. “I held two jobs, one as a verification specialist and the other as an office administrator. I was retrenched from both roles at the height of COVID-19,” he revealed. Despite the setback, Kinyua’s credentials in criminology and security studies, coupled with his specialization in security management, positioned him well within the industry.

With a wealth of experience in VIP protection, private investigation, risk assessment, and counter-terrorism, Kinyua decided to leverage his skills and expertise to establish his own security firm. Thus, Limitless Security Services was born, with Kinyua investing an initial capital of KSh 100,000 into the venture.

Driven by his passion for security and investigation, Kinyua set out to fill a market gap by offering comprehensive private security and investigation services. “I have been passionate about security for a long time. Deep interest in protecting people and assets. While I grew deeper in security, I discovered investigations. Now I am a private investigator,” he shared.

Starting as a one-man operation, Limitless Security Services has since flourished, now employing 17 individuals. Kinyua’s commitment to excellence and innovation has enabled the company to carve out a niche for itself in the security industry particularly through its focus on private investigations.

What the future holds

Looking ahead, Kinyua emphasized the importance of embracing technology in shaping the future of private security. He highlighted Limitless’ dedication to continuous training, ensuring that its personnel are equipped with the necessary skills to leverage technology effectively in their operations.

Samuel Kinyua’s journey from job loss to entrepreneurship serves as a testament to resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Through Limitless Security Services, he not only found a way to rebuild his career but also to make a meaningful impact in the security industry.
