Kenyan actress Sandra Dacha has expressed deep sorrow following the death of Bilal Wanjau, a celebrated actor from the popular TV series Tahidi High. Dacha confirmed the actor’s passing on December 4, sharing the news on social media and recounting the final moments of his life.
Bilal Wanjau’s death sparked speculation online about the cause, which Dacha addressed directly. She revealed that a small wound on his leg, which occurred a year prior, worsened due to his underlying diabetes. On Sunday, while in Machakos, Bilal experienced difficulty breathing and was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital. Although medical staff stabilized him, his condition deteriorated as his blood sugar levels spiked. Dacha explained that his wound never fully healed, forcing him to rely on a crutch or walking stick, and ultimately, he succumbed to complications while receiving treatment.
Sandra Dacha credited Bilal Wanjau with a pivotal role in her acting career. She recalled meeting him in 2010 at an organization in Eastleigh known as FHOK, where he recognized her potential and sent her to Planets Theatre. “Bilal played a major role in my life. He spotted my talent and gave me my first opportunity in acting. I will forever remain indebted to him,” Dacha wrote.
