Ugandan boxer Shakib Lutaaya has issued a challenge to Kenyan celebrities, expressing his interest in facing well-known figures in the ring. Shakib, also known as Shakib Cham, explained that celebrity matchups bring attention to his name and encouraged local promoters to arrange fights.

Shakib shared his intentions during an appearance on the Three Truths No Lie podcast. Fitness influencer Frankie suggested Khaligraph Jones as a potential opponent. Shakib’s challenge came just hours after he was knocked out in a boxing match in Uganda against singer Rickman. The loss left his wife, Zari Hassan, visibly emotional at ringside.

Celebrated Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones, real name Brian Robert Ouko, responded hours later in an Instagram live session. He dismissed the idea of fighting Shakib, emphasizing the importance of weight classes in boxing. “Who is that I hear has challenged me to a boxing match? Guys, there is something called a weight class in fighting. You have never seen a 120kg person fighting a 60kg person. Maybe someone who is like 100kg is the one I can try to fight, but still, that is low for me,” Khaligraph said.

He also compared Shakib to Kenyan singer Willy Paul, implying that both would be outside his preferred weight range. His comments sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans suggesting other celebrities for Shakib to challenge, including Eric Omondi and Bahati, while others criticized the idea of celebrity fights altogether.

Netizens debated Khaligraph’s response, offering both support and alternative matchups for Shakib. Some argued that Shakib should challenge bigger international fighters, while others joked about potential showdowns with local personalities.

Shakib Lutaaya’s call-out continues to generate buzz in East African social media circles, highlighting the growing trend of celebrity boxing in the region. His willingness to fight high-profile figures keeps fans engaged and fuels discussions about the future of entertainment-based sports challenges.
