Popular Nairobi businesswoman Shiquo HiiStyle has pledged to reward Harambee Stars players with high-end gifts if they win the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024). Her announcement comes as the team leads Group A and prepares for a crucial match against Zambia.
Harambee Stars top Group A with seven points from three matches. They will face Zambia on Sunday, August 17, at Kasarani Stadium. A win would secure a 10-point finish and strengthen their chances of advancing to the knockout stages.
Shiquo HiiStyle has promised double-door fridges for the starting eleven if Harambee Stars win the CHAN 2024 title. She also pledged 75-inch TVs for the substitutes who contribute to the team’s success. In a viral video, she said, “I trust you so much. I know you will win against Zambia. If you win the cup, mark my word, the starting eleven will get a double-door fridge. The players warming the bench will receive this 75-inch TV.”
Shiquo HiiStyle’s gesture follows a similar promise from President William Ruto, who pledged KSh 2.5 million if Harambee Stars defeat Zambia. Earlier, singer Kevin Bahati and his wife Diana Marua had promised KSh 1 million for a win against Morocco, though logistical challenges delayed delivery.
Harambee Stars have already qualified for the quarter-finals after DR Congo eliminated Angola. DR Congo will face Morocco in the next round. With strong backing from public figures and a solid group stage performance, Harambee Stars are well-positioned to push further in the tournament.
The team’s focus now shifts to the Zambia match. A win will not only solidify their position at the top of Group A but also bring them closer to claiming the CHAN 2024 title. With incentives from Shiquo HiiStyle and other supporters, the players have added motivation to perform at their best and deliver a historic win for Kenya.
Shiquo HiiStyle’s promise underscores the growing support for Harambee Stars, highlighting the impact of local business leaders in motivating national sports teams.
