Size 8’s Journey to Homeownership

Size 8 and her husband, DJ Mo, have been working towards moving their family into a new home. The couple, who recently renewed their vows, are excited about their progress.

The singer shared a video showcasing the beautiful front yard of their mansion, featuring lush green grass and a spacious compound. She also gave fellow musician Benachi’s wife, Joan, a tour of the home, revealing its elegant white walls and ample space.

Why Building is Better Than Buying

During a discussion with Joan, Size 8 emphasized the benefits of building a home rather than buying one. She explained that constructing a house allows homeowners to have control over its design, location, and layout, ensuring it meets their needs and preferences.

She also pointed out a major mistake she and DJ Mo made while building their house—they did not downgrade their lifestyle to free up more funds for construction.

Lessons from Their Experience

Size 8 admitted that continuing to rent a high-end house in Lavington while building their new home strained their finances. She advised aspiring homeowners to consider moving to a more affordable rental to save more money for construction.

She also encouraged families to cut unnecessary costs, including selling assets that are not essential, to focus on building their dream homes. However, she clarified that downgrading does not mean living in poor conditions but rather adjusting to a more practical lifestyle to achieve long-term financial stability.

Despite their financial challenges, the singer and her husband managed to save in other ways, which helped them continue with their project. She expressed gratitude for the progress they have made and encouraged others to take a strategic approach when planning to build a home.

A Message to Future Homeowners

Size 8’s insights highlight the importance of financial planning in homeownership. Her story serves as a lesson to families looking to build their dream homes—prioritize budgeting, make necessary sacrifices, and take control of the construction process to create a space that truly feels like home.
