The Kenyan political scene is straddled by dynasties. It is almost a given that a son, wife or even grandson of a current strong political leader.

When Fidel Odinga died, aside from the usual mourning there were undertones that he had lost his heir apparent to his mantle. However, his elder daughter has been making waves since and many now acknowledge in her he has a powerful personality to secure the Odinga’s family position. Since she made her powerful speech at her brother’s funeral every move Winnie has made has been watched and analyzed.
Over the weekend photos of her emerged where she was keenly involved in the political activities of the party and always close distance to her father. This set of rumors that she had finally been set for grooming to take over her father.
