Two cargo trains collided on an old railway line in Mtito Andei, Makueni County on Sunday 22nd April 2018.
The two machines hit each other from behind, they were heading in the same direction, Mombasa town.
According to the area OCPD Francis Kamau, the accidently occurred barely 700 metres from Mtito-Andei Railway Station. Luckily no injuries were reported.
Police boss noted that operatioons along the stretch were interrupted as they waited on special machines to help them tore the wreckages
“For now we waiting for specialised assistance from our engineers. We have launched investigations to establish how the trains hit each other,” he said.
