Struggling Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho is set to be sacked after what is believed to be his last fixture against Newcastle United.
Senior club’s board sources told Mirror Sports that the coach had lost confidence in fans, players, board and entire United family, prompting an imminent axe.
Already the Red Devils are in 10th position, sitting behind league leaders Manchester City nine points behind.
Sources say that United CEO Ed Woodward has also run out of patience with Mourinho and he is prepared for anything.
Mirror Sports noted that Zidane would be a close favorite to replace former Chelsea boss
Ex-Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is the favourite to succeed Mourinho, who is set to receive compensation of around £20million. Michael Carrick could be put in temporary charge.
