Legendary Kenyan musician Colonel Mustafa has revealed a heartfelt chapter of his life, sharing openly for the first time about his current relationship with a partner who lost her natural ability to hear. The artist, once at the top of the music scene, has faced numerous personal and professional challenges, but his story now reflects resilience, love, and hope for the future.

Mustafa, famous for hits like Umenikumbuka, has had a rollercoaster journey. After dating several celebrities, including socialite Huddah Monroe and rapper Noti Flow, whose relationships did not last, his life took a challenging turn. Struggling financially, he found himself working at a construction site to provide for himself and care for his ailing mother, who was battling cancer. A video of Mustafa at the construction site circulated on social media, prompting an outpouring of support and donations from concerned fans.

Despite the hardships, Mustafa’s spirit remains unbroken. In a candid interview with Alex Mwakideu, the musician revealed that he has found love again with a woman who is deaf—a condition she developed after being struck by a stone while travelling in a car.

“She is deaf. Truly speaking,” Mustafa said. When Mwakideu expressed surprise, Mustafa reassured him: “She was okay, but was hit by a stone. She was somewhere travelling in a car.”

Although she is still learning sign language, Mustafa said they are managing communication well, and he is optimistic about her recovery. “She has started getting better. She will get back to normal with time,” he added.

This relationship marks a new chapter for Mustafa, who has kept his personal life largely private until now. He described his partner as a source of strength and stability, contrasting her with his previous celebrity romances, which he now regards as mistakes. Reflecting on his past, Mustafa admitted that dating fellow artistes came with complications and regrets. He advised against such relationships, emphasizing the importance of having a supportive partner who stands by you through life’s ups and downs.

As Colonel Mustafa navigates this new phase, his story resonates as one of perseverance and the healing power of love. From the heights of fame to the humbling realities of hardship, the musician continues to inspire many with his openness and positivity.

Mustafa’s journey reminds Kenyans that even in the face of adversity, embracing love and hope can lead to brighter days ahead.
