One of the issues that can most annoy and frustrate the author of any work is plagiarism. In the Internet era it is so easy to copy entire works that only a few clicks are enough and the already used copy – paste.

Something similar happens in social networks; Every day thousands of videos, states and information are copied that with a hand on the waist people steal to create a “new” content or simply to redistribute it as if it were them.

Facebook has released an update on its copyright system. The social network aims to stop video theft once and for all. Among the new rules that it is integrating in its copyright policy is the detection of identical videos, be it a complete video or just a fragment.

In turn, the user may report that the copyright of their content has been violated. On the other hand and in the counterpart of the topic, the owner of the video will be able to list the different pages in which it is allowed to reproduce and share said content, a white list of authorized pages.

This new feature will only be available in Facebook Pages, that is, in the space that use companies or public figures to publish their original content and communicate with their audience. Likewise, the owner of the page must be a candidate for this new function which will be done through an application and only when it is approved will be able to use it.

Each time you upload a video and try to publish Facebook will analyze and display a database of videos in which there is equal or similar content, so that users do not continue to upload videos containing other content.

Theft of content, especially on Facebook, has been an evil that has been stalking the platform for several years, Youtubers, companies and some other types of characters have already complained about this practice but it is so far that Zuckerberg and His team have put to work to end the theft of content.

The new functionality is now available and will gradually reach different users.
