The 24 -year -old man man identified as Lucas Luvai attacked his wife after discovering she had feasted on the fried termites, a common delicacy among western Kenya people.

“I had bought the ants for my lunch because my wife is always busy at the market during lunch time to cook for me,” said Luvai, as reported by The standard.

Lucas, who has revealed he was drunk during the incident, is now seeking for forgiveness from his wife whom he chased away.

“She has refused to forgive me and come back. I have been calling her, but she is not picking my phone calls,” he said.

Lucas’ wife feasted on the fried termites meal after she came home and smelt the irresistible aroma, an explanation the husband refused to believe causing him to chase her away.

The incident which left the area residents in shock is among several bizarre cases reported in the country. Cases of assault over food have been on the rise in the recent months.
