The social media feud between Wanja Nyarari and radio host Baby Top has intensified over the past few days, capturing the attention of netizens across Kenya. The conflict has sparked widespread discussion online, with both parties exchanging sharp remarks and allegations.
The tension began after Baby Top’s lover, Mugithi singer Waithaka wa Jane, was detained in Germany. Baby Top and Waithaka claimed the arrest was related to suspected drug possession, but Wanja disputed this, alleging it was due to a visa issue and that Waithaka had not resolved matters with the Ngemi Festival promoter.
The feud escalated on September 28 when Wanja accused Baby Top of previously stealing her lover. She went further, sharing AI-generated images depicting a woman resembling Baby Top in compromising scenarios. Wanja also leaked email screenshots to support her claims, stating: “I forgave you for everything, I honestly did, including finding you doing it on a bed I had bought. I hurt, and I moved on. You are the ones who keep poking your nose in my life…” She hinted that this drama will feature in her upcoming book, teasing a chapter about their conflict.
Baby Top responded swiftly, dismissing Wanja’s allegations with a mix of humour and sarcasm. She referenced a Kikuyu slur she has used in their ongoing exchange, writing: “Our third wife aligongewa kwa matrimonial bed ya second wife. Hallucinations.”
During Waithaka’s Germany show, Baby Top also encountered unexpected public reactions. Attendees chanted Wantam, a slogan associated with former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, which caused a stir online. The video of the chants went viral, adding another layer of attention to the ongoing feud.
The conflict between Wanja Nyarari and Baby Top highlights the increasingly public nature of personal disputes in the age of social media. Their exchanges combine personal accusations with public performances, keeping followers engaged and sparking ongoing debate about loyalty, relationships, and respect.
