Renowned gospel singer Weezdom has shared a deeply personal story about his battle with depression, addiction, and his journey toward recovery. In a candid revelation, the artist disclosed how depression led him down a path of addiction and ultimately to a rehabilitation center, where he began his healing process.
In a heartfelt post on his Instagram, Weezdom opened up about the challenges he faced. He shared that, nearly four months ago, he was admitted to the hospital after doctors diagnosed him with depression. This condition, which he initially did not fully understand, spiraled into addiction, something he admits he wasn’t aware could be considered a disease in itself.
“It has been a long time, almost four months, since I announced that I had fallen ill. I was admitted to the hospital for an extended period and eventually transferred. In July, I was moved to Nobility Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre. The reason for the transfer was that while being treated, I was also battling depression, which led to an addiction. At this time, I was not even aware that addiction is a disease in itself,” he explained.
Weezdom’s journey through rehabilitation was far from easy, but he expressed immense gratitude for the unwavering support he received from his family, friends, and fans. He mentioned how people like fellow musician Jaguar, Willy Mtuva, and Guardian were there for him during his recovery. His fans also played a crucial role in his healing process, offering both spiritual and financial support during his time in rehab.
“It hasn’t been easy. I persevered for over a hundred days while completing my program at the facility. I really want to sincerely thank everyone who stood by me, including my family, friends, and fans. Your support truly came through for me when I needed it most,” Weezdom said.
In a special message to his fans, the singer also expressed his gratitude for their prayers and support: “I also want to thank my fans, who are the most important to me. There were times when I needed your support, and you truly came through for me.”
In October, Weezdom had appealed to his fans for continued spiritual and financial help as he completed his treatment. His recovery journey was one filled with challenges, but today, Weezdom expresses hope and appreciation for his healing process. “Nashukuru God niko home na nimepona. (I thank God that I am now healthy and I am back home),” he shared, marking a major milestone in his recovery.
Weezdom also took the opportunity to talk about his role as a father. The musician is a proud father of four children, ranging in age from two to twelve years old. He expressed that his children are a driving force behind his dedication and hard work, especially in the past few years.
Fans flooded the comment section with messages of encouragement and praise. Many celebrated his recovery, with some remarking on how inspirational his journey had been. Comments like “Yesu anaweza bro” and “All Glory be to God” reflected the support Weezdom continues to receive from his followers.
Today, Weezdom stands as a symbol of resilience, demonstrating that even in the darkest of times, with support and determination, recovery is possible. His story serves as a reminder that seeking help is not a sign of weakness but a step toward healing and strength.
