a). What is Ebola virus disease?
This is a severe and often deadly disease that affects people and non- human primates and is caused by the Ebola virus.
b). How is Ebola spread?
1. Comes in contact with body fluids ( blood,saliva,vomitus,stool,urine,sweat and other fluids) from a person who is infected with Ebola.
2. Handle of dead bodies of people who have died from Ebola
3. Handle of personal effects of persons infected or who have died from Ebola e.g clothing,beddings.
4. Comes in contact with contaminated environment ( surfaces).
5. Can also be spread from handling or eating raw meat of Ebola infected.
c). Signs and symptoms of a person suffering from Ebola.
1. Hotness of the body ( fever).
2. Headache
3. Body weakness
4. Bone pain
5. Muscle pain
6. Vomiting and diarrhea
7. Cough and sore throat
8. Bleeding through body openings like eyes,nose,gums,ears and anus.
