Weeks after getting hitched to city lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo, Kirinyaga governor Anne Mumbi has dropped her famous political name ‘Waiguru’.

She told reporters recently that she will now prefer to be called Anne Mumbi Kamotho following her traditional wedding to Kamotho Waiganjo on July 13, 2019.

The lavish event was attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

After separation from first hubby Tony Waiguru , she retained the surname even after their divorce.

“On my name, we will communicate officially on the branding. For now, you can call me Anne Mumbi or Anne Mumbi Minji Minji or Anne Mumbi Kamotho Minji Minji…whichever. It’s just a name,” she told journalists

Her election was upheld by the court after the Supreme Court upheld her gubernatorial win over Marth Karua, her closest challenger.
