Willis Raburu, one of Kenya’s most popular TV presenters, has announced his departure from Royal Media Services (RMS) after 13 years.
Raburu made the announcement on Twitter and Facebook on Monday, June 26, 2023.
“To all my fans and supporters, as I say farewell to Royal Media Services which has been my home for 13 remarkable years, I will be saying goodbye in all the shows I have been participating in during my time here this whole week!” Raburu wrote on Twitter. “Successful people look like you!”
In a longer post on Facebook, Raburu said that he was “immensely grateful” for his time at RMS. “Thank you for the platform to break barriers, inspire change, and connect with all of you,” he wrote. “Onward to new adventures!”
Raburu’s departure from RMS comes as a surprise to many. He is one of the most popular presenters on the network, and his shows, including “10 Over 10” and “The Trend,” are some of the most watched in Kenya.
It is not yet clear what Raburu’s plans are after leaving RMS. However, he has said that he is “excited to explore new opportunities” and “to continue to connect with you all in new and innovative ways.”
Raburu’s fans have been expressing their sadness on social media. However, they have also been supportive of his decision. “Thank you for all the memories, Willis,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “You’ve been a great inspiration to us all.”
Another fan wrote on Facebook, “We’ll miss you, Willis. But we know you’ll do great things in your next chapter.”
Raburu’s departure from RMS is a major loss for the network. However, it is also an opportunity for him to explore new challenges and to continue to grow as a presenter. His fans will be watching closely to see what he does next
