During the 2022 general elections, it is safe to note that Kenyans voted in the most youngest leaders as opposed to the past years.
The elected leaders included MPs, Women Reps as well as MCAs.
Here is a list of Kenya’s youngest elected leaders during the 2022 general elections .
1. MCA Timothy Mutwiri – 21 Years
Timothy Mutwiri could is holding the record for the youngest elected Kenyan in the 2022 general elections.
At Timothy won the Kiegoi/Antubochiu ward seat in Igembe South constituency, Meru County.
The Form Four leaver, who hails from Itumi village whose main cash crops are miraa and tea, garnered 2,901 votes to beat a rich field of 20 renowned politicians.
2. MCA George Nene – 22 Years
George Ng’ang’a Nene, 22, emerged victorious and is now the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Elementaita ward
He had no funds for the campaign, no vehicle, and neither did he have a public address to use.
Nene is a fourth-year student at Egerton University, he vied on a Safina party ticket.
3. Women Rep Toto – 24 years
Linet Chepkorir will be Kenya’s youngest elected Women Rep from Bomet County.
Linet was elected on a UDA ticket. The 24 year old said that she campaigned only on a budget of Ksh.100,000 in a moment where her competitors spent almost 10 times her budget.
4. MCA Abraham Orikai -24 Years
The 24-year-old, Abraham Osoi Orikai, is the Member of County Assembly for Matapato North Ward in Kajiado Central Constituency.
Osoi, who is the youngest MCA to ever be elected in Kajiado, believes that the youth are the leaders of today rather than tomorrow.
Osoi who is professional accountant graduated from KCA University.
Osoi vied for the position using the WIPER party and defeated the incumbent Dickson Nkaloyo of ODM.
5. MCA Joshua Kipruto – 25 years
Joshua Kipruto (ABDI) MCA UDA Ticket winner of Kapsowar ward and Less than 25years old.
6. Women Rep Cynthia Muge – 27 years
At just the age of 27 years, Muge became one of the youngest politicians in Kenya after being elected the Nandi County Woman Representative on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket.
7. MP Josses Lelmengit – 28 Years
Josses Lelmengit is the MP for Emgwen Constituency and was elected on a UDA ticket. Lelmengit is a civil engineer by profession and is aged 28.
8. MP John Paul Mwirigi – 28 years
John Paul who was lauded as one of the youngest first term MPs, was re-elected again.
Igembe South MP John Paul Mwirigi was first elected 2017 at the age of 23.
He defended his seat on UDA ticket.
9. MCA DNG – 30 years
Hype master, DNG won an MCA seat on a UDA ticket. DNG won the Woodley Kenyatta Golf ward
10. MP Mwangi Muchiri – 30 Years
In Oljororok constituency, voters also elected a 30-year old Mwangi Muchiri as their Member of Parliament
11. Senator John Methu – 31 Years
John Methu, 31, attained 185,337 votes to be elected the Nyandarua senator.
Methu, who is likely the youngest person to be ever elected to the Senate, beat incumbent senator Paul Githiomi who finished third in the race with 15,015 votes.

12. MP Peter Salasya – 32 years
In Mumias East, MP Peter Salasya, 32, was elected as the area MP on the DAP-Kenya ticket.
13. Senator Eddy Oketch – 32 Years
Migori county, 32-year-old Eddy Oketch clinched the senate seat after garnering 295,228 votes.
14. MP Caleb Amisi- 34 Years
Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, 34, successfully defended his seat on the ODM ticket.
Amisi retained the seat by garnering 25,469 votes against his closest challenger Bernard Wambwa of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) who got 12,392 votes
15. Governor Wesley Rotich – 35 Years
Wesley Rotich was elected as the Elgeyo Marakwet governor after he garnered 147, 706 votes on UDA ticket.
Rotich, 35, served as the deputy governor of the county outgoing governor Alex Tolgos.
