In August 2018, an IPSOS Synovate survey discovered that Deputy President William Ruto and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru were the two leading politicians on grounds of corruption in Kenya.
Ironically, these two leaders had established a close relationship just after 2017 elections than in the past!
IPSOS ranked DP Ruto top on the corruption table with a score of 33% as the most mention individual on graft cases as Waiguru came second with 31%.
National Youth Service (NYS), Kenya Power, sugar and maize importation scandal were the most mentioned graft cases by correspondents. The two leaders mentioned above were grossly mentioned in the cases above.
This survey, just trickled in moments after the two leaders Ruto and Waiguru had amplified their national outlook of politics and seemed to be working closely today for their future.
Some windy political analysts believe that DP Ruto who is set to vie as a President in 2022, might pick Waiguru to be the main campaigner of his voters from the central region.
Another satirical irony from the recent ‘romance’ between the two leaders, is the fact that Waiguru was a common figure with President Uhuru Kenyatta during his first term, then she was CS for Devolution before she was sent away with graft allegations. It is believed that she oversaw more than sh.800 million go missing from the NYS budget kitty.
Now Waiguru with Ruto is a topic for another day.
