To learn how to deal with stress in college, follow this series of tips:

Organize a study calendar

The first step to not overwhelm yourself is to organize your times.

If you already know in advance how your class calendar will be, the hours you have reserved for the study and your extracurricular activities, you will have a better control of your emotions.

Attend class

Absenteeism is one of the main causes of academic failure. If you do not want to fail your bouquets you should make sure you attend class.

It is there where you will acquire the knowledge and explanations that only books will give you.

Do sport.

Physical activity is a natural liberator of endorphins.

Incorporating a sport into your life, at least twice a week, will improve your mood, increase your cognitive capacity and help you sleep better at night.

Reduce your extracurricular activities

Wanting to cover a lot can be counterproductive. If you are one of those people who cannot say “no” to any invitation or extracurricular activity, it’s time to re-evaluate if you’re not overloading your agenda too much.

Practice meditation

Meditation, the mindfullness and breathing exercises can become great allies.

With dedicating a few minutes of your day to breathe deeply and lower the decibels, you will already notice the difference.

Sleep well at night

Our body and mind need at least 7 or 8 hours of sleep per night to function properly. Do not get hung up watching Netflix or going on a reel, unless it’s a weekend, of course.

Consultation with an expert

If none of the above works, you should not be ashamed to ask for an expert consultation, it could be a psychiatrist or a psychologist.

As we said, stress can have serious consequences, but the key to avoiding them is to be treated in time.
