Nine people were left dead and over 20 others seriously injured after an accident involving a bus and a lorry busted into flames after colliding head-on near Sultan Hamud.
The accident which occurred along Nairobi-Mombasa Highway in Makueni county happened on the morning of Wednesday 4th , July. The bus belong to the luxury transport company BusCar.
The injured were taken to Kilome Nursing Home and the dead taken to Makindu Hospital mortuary as Makueni County Commissioner Mohammed Maalim confirmed the deaths.
“The vehicles collided head-on and went up in flames,” said Mr Maalim, describing the crash as “a very bad one
The police have launched investigations into the cause of the heinous accident.
