When this occurs, a crane is usually called, which is very expensive. However there is a way to repair it quickly without the need to spend a lot of money.
When feeling that one of the tires is flat, the vehicle must be stopped immediately, you should not try to drive because only the rubber side will deteriorate, which must be intact.
Above all, it is important to highlight that this type of repair is temporary and it is advisable to go to a carving to verify the damage and determine if it is repaired or has to be replaced.
To repair a punctured tire, you need a block wick, this type of external repair is very cheap and quick to carry out. Here is how you should cover that puncture.
How to fix a flat tire
- Once the vehicle is stopped, you must locate exactly where the hole is or the foreign body that caused it.
- Do not remove it until you have all the materials ready, as it will lose air quickly.
- Take a needle punch and hold the wick with it, smear a lot of glue all over the wick. Try to cover it very well from all angles.
- Then remove the foreign body and insert a sandpaper punch into the hole. Start taking it all the way down and open the hole a little more for the wick to enter.
- Once the hole is clean, insert the needle punch with the wick until it reaches its center, ensuring that it only exceeds a few centimeters.
- Carefully remove the needle punch by turning it slowly.
- To verify that it is not blowing air yet, spray a little soapy water and seeing that no bubbles come out means that it is repaired.
- You will notice that the excess of the wick was left on the outside of the tire, for this you can cut it with a cutter.
- It is important to note that the tire should not lose more than 0.1 bar per month, if so it is better to change it or go to a professional.
