It is not that easy to spot these cars in Nairobi roads. An whenever they do so, traffic police at least go home with another life experience on the roads.
The by-standers will line-up to grace the expensive road user. What I don’t is how the drivers cop u with such unnecessary publicity.
Here is the top 10 list of the most expensive cars spotted in Nairobi and it’s environs.
Porsche 718 Cayman
Price: Ksh 5896324 ($58,272)
In their flat-four-turbo engines beats the heart of a warrior that has conquered countless podiums. Their lightweight construction contains the concentrated experience of endurance and hill climb races. In them lives the will to excel beyond standards. And to convince. It is only natural that they would now include these three numbers in their name and so continue the 718 legend.
Jaguar XJ.

Long wheelbase XJ models take the luxury of space to another level with no compromise to the beauty of XJ’s stylish exterior. Porsche Panamera
Price: Ksh 7,905,090 ($78,000)
Owned by Jared Otieno.
As with the Cayenne SUV, the wildly successful Panamera has proven that the Porsche 911’s mystique translates to four doors. No matter what you think about the controversial “four-door coupe” styling, the dynamic abilities are indisputable. With two wheelbase lengths and a wide array of powertrains—non-turbo and twin-turbo V-6s, a snarling V-8, and even a 416-hp plug-in hybrid (turbo V-8 models are reviewed separately), there’s a Panamera for everyone, from speed demons to greenies.
Jaguar F Coupe
Price: Ksh 9,079,213 ($89,700)
Owned by Governor Kabogo.
The F-TYPE has a lightweight aluminum body structure with high torsional rigidity, making it the ideal platform for a sports car. This strong, rigid structure provides an inherently stable platform for precise, agile handling, and is the perfect complement to the high-performance engine range.
Ferrari F430
Price: Ksh 9,413,231 ($93,000)
The F430 hails the arrival of a whole new generation of Ferrari V8-engined berlinettas. Every inch of the car was inspired by the engineering research carried out at Ferrari’s Gestione Sportiva F1 Racing Division. The result is a highly innovative design characterised by cutting-edge technologies perfected for use on a road-going car.
Nissan Skyline GT-R
Price: Ksh 10,300,909 ($101,770).
The Japanese sports car Nissan Skyline GTR was first produced in the year 1969. The fully revived skyline R32 model of the car was launched in the year 1989. The R32 model was very famous and successful in Japanese motorsport as the car won all the 29 races in which it participated. The GTR R33 model was able to complete the Nurburgring track lap in Germany in under 8 minutes. The fifth generation Nissan Skyline GTR R34 was released in the year 1999.
It had a reduced front overhang and a shorter length. The 2008 model of the car got ‘Skyline’ separated from its name. This vehicle was based loosely on the earlier Skyline GTR model but was in a way an entirely new vehicle. The 2009 GTR was the first model of the GTR series to be released in United States of America and is also available in other parts of the world as well
Maserati Quattroporte
Price: Ksh 10,378,740 ($102,500).
In Italian, “Quattroporte” means “four doors,” but you don’t need to speak the language to know that the curvy sheetmetal and wailing engines promise a sedan with dramatic flair. There are three models: the S has a 404-hp 3.0-liter V-6 and rear-wheel drive; the S Q4 adds all-wheel drive; the GTS has a 523-hp 3.8-liter V-8 and rear-wheel drive. All have twin turbos and eight-speed automatics. Inside, the leather is sumptuous; Chrysler’s Uconnect is a plus, but the parts-bin switchgear is not.
Mercedes G-class Wagon
Price: Ksh 12,135,983 ($119,900)
Owned by Jeff Koinange.
here’s nothing quite like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class sports-utility vehicle. How many vehicles can say they were designed at the request of the Shah of Iran, have served as the official transportation device for the Pope, are used as military vehicles by nearly every major country in the world and are sold brand new fully swathed in luxury from car dealerships in North America?
Only one that we can think of: the G-Class. The G has been around for more than 30 years, although only since 2002 has the G-Class been officially imported by Mercedes-Benz. Previously, North American importation was through Santa Fe, New Mexico-based grey market importer Europa International. Since 2002, the G has been available new from Mercedes-Benz dealers, despite brief hiatuses.
