Businesses of all sizes need marketing to sell more, regardless of the type of business, the market, the location or the volume of sales. They all do it in one way or another: they call and inquire about their customers, run promotions, offer free samples, etc.

Check out these five must-haves in your small business marketing strategy:

Picture.

Humans are visual. We remember and assimilate information better when it is accompanied by images that remain in our memory and are later associated with a brand or product. For example, Apple’s apple or the font used by Coca-Cola.

Choose a business name, logo, and font that projects what you are looking for.

Use them in all documents and advertising pieces. This identity helps clients differentiate and remember you.

Customers.

The better you know your customers, the better you can meet their needs: what they want, how and when. Watch, take surveys, ask them to fill out a simple form on their first purchase. Work according to your tastes and preferences.

Recommendations.

Customer service is the key to success. We all like to be treated well and if you make the client feel special and important, they will probably recommend you. Keep in mind that a “very satisfied” customer recommends 3 to 5 times, and a dissatisfied one discourages you more than 10 times.

Administration.

Register the data of your customers (email, cell phone, address), what they buy, how often, what products or services they use the most, what they work on, etc. Take advantage of this to inform them about promotions, recommendations, new products, etc. Mind you, don’t be too invasive.

Value.

Once you get to know the customer, you should be able to offer them something additional that is useful to them. For example, if you have a cosmetician, send her a monthly email with beauty tips or give her a discount card.
