The sudden and tragic death of veteran journalist Rita Tinina has sent shockwaves through the media industry in Nairobi. Tinina, a respected figure with years of experience in covering politics and current affairs, was found lifeless in her home at Brooklyne apartment in Kileleshwa on Sunday, March 17. The discovery was made by her concerned colleagues who had visited her residence after she failed to show up for work, a highly unusual occurrence for the dedicated journalist.

Upon being notified of the incident, Tinina’s family promptly reported the matter to the authorities at Kileleshwa Police Station. Police officers swiftly arrived at the scene to commence their investigation into the circumstances surrounding her untimely demise. According to the police report obtained by TUKO.co.ke, Tinina’s body was then transferred to Umash Funeral Home for preservation as authorities await the results of an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.

Helen Silau Njaga, Tinina’s sister, was informed of the tragic event by one of Tinina’s colleagues. Njaga immediately rushed to the scene and contacted emergency medical services. However, upon their arrival, paramedics sadly confirmed that Rita Tinina had already passed away.

The police report further indicates that during the processing of the scene, no physical injuries were observed on Tinina’s body. This finding raises questions and deepens the mystery surrounding her death, prompting authorities to await the results of the impending autopsy for clarity.

Tinina’s colleagues, friends, and the wider journalistic community are mourning her loss, remembering her as a dedicated professional who contributed significantly to the field. The investigation into her death continues, with many hoping for answers that will shed light on this tragic event.
