James Njenga was apprehended in his house alongside three other suspects in an operation conducted by officers from the Anti-Narcotics Unit. The four were later transferred to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for questioning.
Police officer privy to the operation stated that during the arrest, they recovered several sachets of cocaine and pounds of high-grade marijuana stocked inside the house.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects have been running a drug distribution network in the City and in Kampala, Uganda.
They are also suspected to be importing special narcotics referred to as Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) which are mostly traded in executive clubs within the capital.
The drugs obtained from Europe are said to be addictive and are in high demand since they are highly ‘effective’.
